Move mapped drives and on-premises SharePoint into SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Teams with a structure people can navigate and permissions you can explain.
Migration workstreams
A file share copied as-is into SharePoint is still a file share, just harder to search. We design the destination first, then move content into it.
Volume, file counts, path lengths, unsupported characters, file types, stale data, and permission complexity across every share or site.
Hub sites, team sites, libraries, and Teams mapped to how departments actually work, with ownership assigned for each.
Broken inheritance, individual user permissions, and legacy groups rationalized into Microsoft 365 groups and clear access levels.
Content moved in planned waves with SharePoint Migration Tool or Migration Manager, followed by delta passes before each cutover.
Classic sites, custom solutions, workflows, and InfoPath forms reviewed for rebuild, replacement, or retirement.
Mapped drives removed, OneDrive sync and shortcuts configured, source shares set read-only, and users trained on the new layout.
The goal is not just moved files. It is a SharePoint environment where people find what they need, sharing is controlled, and IT is not rebuilding it a year later.
Plan the SharePoint MoveWhere projects go wrong
These are the problems we see most after file server and SharePoint Server moves done without a design phase.
Deep folder trees that worked on a file server can exceed SharePoint path limits once site and library names are added to the URL.
Syncing very large libraries to every laptop causes slow sync and support tickets. Libraries need to be sized and shortcuts used deliberately.
Migrating item-level unique permissions as-is creates a security model nobody can audit and a poor foundation for Copilot.
SharePoint 2010 and 2013 workflows and InfoPath forms do not carry forward. They need to be rebuilt in Power Automate or Power Apps.
Dumping every department share into one site or library makes permissions, search, and retention harder to manage.
Copying years of untouched data increases migration time and storage cost. Archive decisions belong before the move, not after.

Ready to retire the file server?
We will scan your content, design the destination, and run the migration in waves with permissions cleaned up along the way.
